Solo Art Exhibition - Interweaving: Gerringong and Beyond
Gerringong Library and Museum Gallery
31 May to 6 June 2024
My first solo exhibition, Interweaving: Gerringong and Beyond. It was a selection of artworks that highlight my new creative life in Gerringong. It contained two themes, Landscapes and Botany - featuring recognisable locations, plants and animals that can be found in region of Gerringong, plus a few artworks that are imagined and abstracted.
Three distinct periods of artwork were highlighted in the exhibition. The illustrative artworks were created with watercolour and ink on paper. The abstracts were layered with acrylic, graphite, ink, pen, chalk, charcoal, and watercolour on canvas or wood. My most recent artworks included embroidered cotton thread on acrylic painted canvases.
This exhibition showed the peaceful natural beauty of Gerringong and I hoped it would inspire visitors to notice their surroundings in their own unique way too.

Squares 2023 - Strathnairn Arts
5 - 27 August 2023
Squares 2023 the 17th People's Choice Exhibition/ Competition, are 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5cm) unframed artworks made using any medium.
My Square 2023 entries are from my series, Nature and Notations, #1 and #2. These works on canvas were inspired by my mixed media Patchwork Blue Series on paper I created in 2022, see this series on my Abstract Art page. In both of these series, the layers of acrylic paint applied slowly in a patchwork style. I then add a range of other mediums on to the paint layer; graphite, charcoal, ink, gel pen, coloured pencil, chalk and/or more acrylic paint.
In the Nature and Notations series the colour palette is created using only 4 colours plus black and white. The base paint colour used in all of the tones is cerulean blue.
